Privacy Policy
Last updated: February 10, 2026
Open64 is a Chrome extension that helps you set goals using the Open 64 method. We respect your privacy and collect only what's necessary to make the product work.
What We Collect
Data stored locally on your device (never sent to us):
- Your Open64 grid (purpose, pillars, and actions)
- Daily tasks and completion history
- Activity graph data
- Weekly focus selections
- Template preferences and settings
- Your name (used only for the greeting display)
This data is stored in Chrome's local storage on your computer. We cannot access it, and it never leaves your device.
Data sent to our servers:
- Email address — only if you voluntarily provide it through the email capture prompt or team waitlist form. Used to send product updates and tips. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- Device identifier — a randomly generated ID (not tied to your identity) sent with AI-powered task suggestion requests. Used solely to prevent abuse of the AI service. Not linked to your email or any personal information.
- AI task requests — when you use the "Plan my day" feature, your pillar names and action text are sent to our AI proxy server to generate task suggestions. This data is not stored after the response is generated.
What We Don't Collect
- We do not track your browsing history
- We do not collect analytics or usage telemetry
- We do not use cookies or tracking pixels
- We do not sell, share, or transfer your data to third parties
- We do not serve ads or use your data for advertising
Third-Party Services
- Unsplash — background images are loaded from Unsplash's image API. Unsplash may collect standard web request data (IP address, user agent). See Unsplash's privacy policy.
- Google Fonts — fonts are loaded from Google's servers. See Google's privacy policy.
Data Storage and Security
Your grid data is stored entirely in your browser's local storage. If you uninstall the extension or clear your browser data, this data will be permanently deleted. We recommend periodically exporting your grid if you want to keep a backup.
Email addresses collected through our forms are stored on our servers with standard security protections. AI proxy requests are processed through our Railway-hosted backend and are not logged or stored.
Your Rights
- You can use Open64 without providing any personal information — the email prompt is optional
- You can request deletion of your email from our records at any time
- You can clear all local data by uninstalling the extension or clearing Chrome storage
Children's Privacy
Open64 is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the product evolves. If we make significant changes, we'll note the date at the top. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
